Refund and Returns Policy

Overview
Our refund and returns policy lasts 14 days from the date of delivery, in accordance with Icelandic and EU consumer protection laws. If 14 days have passed since you received your purchase, we cannot offer you a full refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your soap products must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging. Due to hygiene and health regulations, we cannot accept opened or used soap products for return.
Non-Returnable Items
For health and safety reasons, the following items cannot be returned:
- Opened or used soap products (due to hygiene regulations)
- Custom or personalized soap orders
- Gift cards
- Products damaged due to misuse or normal wear
Health and Safety Notice
As our soaps are personal care and hygiene products, we must prioritize customer health and safety. All returned soaps must be in their original, sealed condition to ensure product integrity for future customers.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected at our facility in Reykjavík, we will send you an email notification within 2-3 business days. We will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be processed and credited to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
Defective or Damaged Products
If you receive a defective or damaged soap product, please contact us immediately at info@sapusmidjan.is with photos of the product. We will arrange for replacement or full refund at no cost to you.
For defective products, we may provide a prepaid return label.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged during shipping. If you need an exchange for the same item, contact us at info@sapusmidjan.is.
For different soap varieties or scents, you would need to place a new order and return the original item following our standard return policy.

Important Return Information:
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs (unless item is defective)
- We recommend using Íslandspóstur with tracking for returns within Iceland
- International returns: Use trackable shipping service
- Return shipping costs will be deducted from refund (unless defective item)
- We cannot guarantee receipt of untracked returns
Gifts
- Gift purchases receive store credit for returns
- Gift certificates will be emailed to the recipient
- If not marked as gift during purchase, refund goes to original purchaser
